August 2020 Message
On behalf of the Patrick’s Pals Board and Directors and the Golf Committee, I want to update you all on our plans for the 2020 Patrick’s Pals Golf Outing as well as what we are doing to impact lives of multiply disabled children through this pandemic crisis we are all facing. First though, we want to send our prayers to all those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, and pass along our hope and prayers that you and your families have good health through these extraordinarily tough times.
As many of you know, we had a date scheduled for August 10, 2020 to hold our Annual Patrick’s Pals Golf Outing at Stanton Ridge Country Club. After careful consideration, the Patrick’s Pals Board and Golf Committee has decided to cancel this years outing. Besides the obvious reasons of social distance limitations that will likely be in place still in August, we feel that now is not the right the right time to ask people to contribute to our foundation when so many have been financially affected by this pandemic. Patrick's Pals has money saved thanks to your generosity and we have decided to make the rest of 2020 dedicated to a focus focus around Giving - Helping multiply disabled children as well as children's hospitals as much as we can. We can pick back up on fundraising when this whole thing is behind us.
In the past year, we have expanded our relationships with Children’s Specialized Hospital in Mountainside, NJ and CHoP (Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia). We recently struck up a relationship with Goryeb Children’s Hospital in Morristown and are going to partner with them to identify children that could use Patrick’s Pals’ help. Additionally, Patrick’s Pals donated $5K in Personal Protective Equipment to Matheny School and Hospital in Peakpack, NJ last week and we are working hard to help individual familes who contact us looking for assistance.
Patrick’s Pals will double down our efforts to look for ways to make a difference in the lives of multiply disabled kids and their families. Anyone who wishes to donate can still do so at www.patricks-pals.com. We are just going to pause any official fundraising events for now. But we are not done. We will look to be back stronger than ever with our 2021 Golf Outing. More will come on that.
In the meantime, be safe and stay healthy! Look for us on Facebook, Instagram and other social media where we will be announcing more on our giving efforts.
Jim and Kerry Conmy and the Entire Patrick’s Pals Board and Golf Committee
